Electric Motors

The compressors with electric prime movers are fitted with a squirrel cage, 3 phase motor. Because the motors are 3 phase, the direction of rotation must be checked after the compressor is connected, plugged in a new socket, or electrical work is carried out on the power supply which may result in the poles being switched. The standard motor fitted is 400 volts, 3 phase, 50 hertz.

3 phase motors with special windings can be supplied with a surcharge. (e.g. 220volts, 3 phase, 60 Hertz).
